Description
In June 2005, we worked together for the first time. Katherine was 17 and had only recently started
modeling. At that time we were working consistently in a burned out house here in Greensboro. Evenescence
had just released its first DVD - Torment had intorduced me too their music and we often played the DVD
while we worked. And so we did that day. Katherine asked me who I wanted her to pose and I replied, "Listen
to the words...." "My Immortal" happened to be playing on the DVD. Katherine's reaction was, well,
breathtaking, and it still is now.
By 2005, Torment had been gone nearly two years and though I still saw here on the street, her departure
had left me with a pain that would not cease. That day, when I looked into Katherine's eyes, my pain eased.
I knew Katherine understood. I knew she shared the pain that burned in my veins. That day, Katherine became my second muse.
Our relationship was to be even shorter than the one I had shared with Torment. Katherine worked with me just four times over just nine months. Five years have passed and yet I find myself returning often to these photographs and to the time I spent with Katherine.
This photo was created with Katherine on the strairs in front of a stained glass window.
